Teambuilding Facilitator in the Philippines

By jm, March 1, 2010 1:10 pm

Yes, I also conduct teambuilding sessions here in the Philippines.

Teambuilding workshops have shown me that there is no one way helping people motivate themselves. One activity works well with others. Others do not. And there are factors that people must consider.

Trust. To be more successful, the facilitator must really build trust. He must be able to show the participants that he is there who is the know it all, a guru, or someone who simply have all the answers. That of course is never true. Most of the times, the participants are in better position to provide solutions to their own problems. The facilitator, an outsider like me, is there to help process the experiences of the participants. Equally important is the trust of the participants with each other. Teambuilding is an invitation for the participants to change their attitudes towards each other. Trust will help them to become open to the necessity of change.

I will talk more about teambuilding sessions next time. When your friends need a teambuilding facilitator, refer them to me. or simply tell them how to contact me.

How to stay off IM for one week.

By jm, October 18, 2009 12:42 am

“Not really that difficult. Habits can be changed. I have no problems with vacuum as there are many things we can enjoy about life and living.”

How I did it: 1. I just deleted my ym messenger. There are no more alerts. Anyway, people can send me email me if they really want to talk to me.
2. There are times when I felt that I should install again my ym. But then, I reminded myself it was not necessary at all.

Lessons & tips: 1. Help yourself to succeed. Knowing what to stop doing is not enough. Take massive action to do it.
2. Sometimes, the massive action is a very simple step like uninstalling your ym.
3. But it works with other habits too. Look for the chain between you and the things that you don’t want to do. Break it.

It took me 7 days.

It made me confident!

Count Our Blessings

By jm, October 10, 2009 2:28 pm

I have always believe that we must count our blessings. I have been emphasizing this in my seminars. Having read the challenges people made for themselves, I thought I should make the same challenge for myself too. Actually, I am thinking of creating my own entries in my blogs simply for this one. One category in my blog- http://jefmenguin.com – is about the miracles we experience every day.

I am not sure if 43things will allow me write about my daily success, but when I am online, I like to do that. I hope also that I will be able to inspire other people.
